The company delivers large digital transformation projects for government organisations and enterprise clients. Its core areas include Data and AI, machine learning, data engineering, software development, business process automation and IT consulting. The company is expanding its technical team in Oman and recruiting international specialists for large government and enterprise projects. The role offers the opportunity to work in a modern technology environment and gain international experience in Oman. The company name and details of the specific project will be disclosed at the final stage of the recruitment process. ## About the role We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer with deep Oracle expertise to design, build and operate data warehouse and lakehouse solutions for enterprise and government clients across the GCC. You will own the data layer end to end on client engagements, including ingestion and change data capture (CDC), modelling, transformation, performance tuning, and migration of legacy Oracle environments to modern architectures on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) and open-source platforms. ## Responsibilities ### Data engineering and integration - Design and build batch and near-real-time pipelines from Oracle and non-Oracle sources, including Oracle EBS, Fusion, SAP, SQL Server, flat files and APIs. - Implement CDC using Oracle GoldenGate or OCI GoldenGate, including replication topology, conflict handling and lag monitoring. - Develop and maintain ETL/ELT in ODI, OCI Data Integration and PL/SQL, and in open-source tools such as Airflow, dbt and Spark where required by the architecture. ### Data warehousing and modelling - Build dimensional models using Kimball star and snowflake schemas and slowly changing dimensions (SCD Types 1 and 2), as well as medallion layers: bronze, silver and gold. - Design partitioning, compression, indexing and materialised view strategies for large fact tables. - Deliver curated datasets ready for semantic modelling in Power BI, Oracle Analytics Cloud and other BI tools. ### Performance and platform - Diagnose and tune SQL and PL/SQL using AWR, ASH, SQL Monitor, execution plans and optimiser statistics. - Work with Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse, Autonomous AI Lakehouse, Exadata and on-premises Oracle 19c and later. - Integrate OCI Object Storage, external tables and open table formats such as Iceberg and Delta into lakehouse designs. ### Migration and modernisation - Lead migrations of legacy Oracle data warehouses, including stored-procedure-heavy ETL and OWB/ODI 11g, to modern architectures.
