From November 3–6, the ADIPEC Exhibition and Conference was held in Abu Dhabi — the largest event in the energy industry, bringing together more than 239,000 participants from 172 countries, and 54 major energy companies, who signed deals worth approximately USD 46 billion. The main message of the event was: “Energy. Intelligence. Impact.” Today and tomorrow, success is no longer defined solely by resource availability — but by the ability to embed intelligence and technology into the energy business.

Over several days, the Usetech team engaged with participants and speakers and identified the following insights:

  • Artificial Intelligence, Digital Twins, Computer Vision, and IoT platforms are becoming a core part of the energy sector. Digital transformation is now a strategic growth driver for companies operating across the energy value chain.
  • Energy infrastructure development, Data Centers, and new sources of energy will continue to play a critical role. However, their successful scale-up requires consistent annual investment and readiness to expand supply and adopt new technologies. This was emphasized in the address of H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, UAE Minister of Industry & Advanced Technology and MD & Group CEO of ADNOC Group, Executive Chairman of XRG and Chairman of Masdar (Abu Dhabi Future Energy Company) — highlighting that building networks, data centers and critical infrastructure will require more than USD 4 trillion in investment.
  • The UAE continues to demonstrate pragmatic and forward-looking energy leadership. Today, they are doubling down on partnerships, advanced technologies and well-designed transition strategies. This was underscored in the remarks of H.E. Suhail Al Mazrouei, Minister of Energy and Infrastructure for the UAE.

As for tangible outcomes, our team held ~30 meetings with potential clients, advanced 2 existing deal processes, and attended the key speaker tracks of the summit.
