Usetech joins Substrate Builders Program to launch Unique Network, NFT chain for Kusama and Polkadot

NFTs are coming to the Kusama and Polkadot ecosystem. We have built Unique Network, Substrate based NFT chain and launched it in scope of Hackusama, Kusama’s first hackathon. To demonstrate it’s technical abilities and engage users, we built its first game – Substrapunks, a tribute to the original Crypto punks game, one of the first blockchain games to launch on Ethereum. To our surprise, this game has gotten a lot of attention – all 10000 Substrapunks were quickly claimed, and new owners started trading them, even scammers showed up. So we decided to build a marketplace, where users can trade their NFTs safely, with a bridge to Kusama. In its first week the marketplace has generated enough volume to put in in top 20 in Nonfungible.com, all happening on our testnet!

In the meantime, we are doing a lot of work to make a production version of Unique Network. This is where we are delighted to announce acceptance into the Substrate Builders program. The expertise and resources of this program will greatly help us to launch a high quality blockchain, and get ready to become a parachain. This assistance is especially important since we have a very ambitious roadmap, that includes:

1. In Q4 2020 we plan to finish a series of development tasks, as well as do comprehensive testing of all of our code including automation for most of the tests and prepare for the production environment. Some of the development tasks include:
   1. ERC-721 compatibility
   2. Ink! 3.0 Support
   3. Smart contract sponsoring
   4. Unique network token Vesting
   5. Off-chain and on-chain metadata schema
   6. Batch minting
   7. Fungible support (ERC-20)
2. Q1 2021 plans are:
   1. Perform audits and QA
   2. Deploy mainnet
   3. Research Ethereum compatibility
   4. Ethereum NFT Bridge POC
   5. Block explorer POC
3. Q2 2021 plans include:
   1. Block explorer Alpha release
   2. Ethereum NFT bridge – alpha version
   3. Advanced economic model with spam protection

On top of all of the above, we have a number of projects that are interested to go live on Unique Network and we are to support their efforts. As one can see – we need all the help we can get.
